June 14, 2024 – MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) By Jacob Gallant – University of Memphis recently announced a new partnership that will connect them with the rest of the world. School of Public Health Dean Ashish Joshi joined Action News 5’s Digital Desk Friday to discuss University of Memphis joining the United Nations Academic Impact, UNAI. UNAI is a United Nations Initiative to align institutions of higher education, scholarship, and research with the United Nations and with each other. The University of Memphis joins 1600 Higher Education Institutions across the globe to work with the United Nations to impact global priorities.
When discussing the UNAI impact on not just the University of Memphis, but the city of Memphis as a whole, Dean Joshi stated, “It is an initiative that allows us to achieve the common goal that is to improve the well-being of the community at large.”
